THE PROBLEM Many homeowners experience foundation problems due in part to this region’s climate. Weather conditions such as hot summers, heavy rainfall, and high humidity, paired with other factors like loosely packed soil structures and poor drainage, can all cause home foundations to settle, expand, shrink, and crack. PRODUCTS FOR REPAIR A carbon fiber support system uses straps made of carbon and Kevlar fibers to reinforce foundation walls and stop them from bowing. We install the Fortress System, a foundation stabilization system known to outperform all others. The carbon-Kevlar straps in this system are incredibly tough and boast an industry, nearly five times stronger than steel. THE PROCESS During installation, we grind clean a section of the foundation wall from floor to ceiling to provide a clean bonding surface. Then they apply a base coat of epoxy to the cleaned section, embed the carbon-Kevlar strap into the epoxy, and further strengthen it by attaching anchors to both the top and bottom. After installation, the top anchor is post-tensioned to ensure the system is secure.
